The Old Red Bus Station is a 480 capacity venue, located on Vicar Lane in Leeds City Centre.The venue is a safe place, open and welcoming to everyone regardless of their economic background, ethnicity or gender.

3.  Venue Description

Our venue spreads across the ground and first floor of former Bus Station in Leeds built in 1936.

The ground floor consisting of a bar, dance floor / stage area and eatery has full step less access.

The accessible toilet facilities are also situated on the ground floor
Main entrance and bar area are step free.

Access to the stage and dance area as well as accessible toilet is via temporary ramp over 2 steps going up.

Fully accessible pay & display car park is at the rear of the venue.

Our promotions manager deals with all enquiries regarding accessibility and accommodations required to ensure all of our customers are looked after and enjoy their experience the venue.

We provide free tickets for personal assistants for all of our ticketing events and the promotions manager will assist in ensuring that your visit is accommodated.
A member of senior management is assigned as a named person for all access related communication.

On the first floor of our venue there are further 2 rooms without step free access. The staircase to these rooms has 19 steps with a handrail on one side at approx. 90cm.

There is a staircase down to the smoking area that has 20 steps, with a handrail on one side at approx. 90cm. We can accommodate step free smoking or fresh air access at the front of the venue if required, however noise must be kept to a minimum due to our license conditions.

4.  Bookable Access Facilities + How To Apply (if applicable)

We provide free tickets for personal assistants for all our ticketed events and the promotions manager will assist in ensuring that your visit is accommodated.

The venue does not having a viewing platform.

The downstairs toilets are located 6m from the bar venue, 15m from main room to the toilets via the back stairs and 33.5m from the main room to toilets from the main venue stairs.

 Customers can gain access via the main route from the bar to the toilets in the ground floor, upstairs requires either using the back stairway located behind the bar or the main stairwell.

There is a Pay & Display parking available to the rear of the venue, with stair access to the venue from behind or stepfree access to the venue from the front.

6.     Travel Guide

We have parking available in the back car park, with stair access to the venue from behind or non-stair access to the venue from the front. 

 Taxi drop-offs are located on North Court 100 metres from the venue, or Templar Street 100 feet from the venue.

Bus stops are located 300 feet from the venue on the Headrow or directly outside the venue with routes to all areas of Leeds & the surrounding areas.

7.     Arrival Guide

The venue opening times are:

Tuesday – 16:00 – 02:00
Wednesday – 16:00 – 02:00
Thursday – 16:00 – 04:00
Friday – 16:00 – 04:00
Saturday – 12:00 – 04:00

Gig starting times differ each week, however weekend club events opening times are almost always 23:00 – 04:00.

 If you are attending a ticketed event and have contacted the Promotions Manager our security team will have been briefed to expect you. Upon arrival please approach the front of the queue and make yourself known to the Senior Door Supervisor who will have been briefed on any accommodations you have requested. Please note that a 'Check 25' ID policy, and personal & search policy are in operation for all of our guests at club events as a condition of our license.

If required our security team will point out or introduce you to the bar manager or supervisor assigned as your point of contact for any access requirements or accommodations, and ensure that if you require step free access that the appropriate ramps are in place.

8.     Toilets

The accessible toilet is accessed on the ground floor, approx 6m from the downstairs dance floor area – A key will be required from the bar and will be available from senior bar management

9.  Customers with Medical Requirements

Please be aware that a mandatory search policy is in place after 2200 every night and for all our club events. If you require to enter the venue with any medicines, glucose drinks, or similar items, please inform the Promotion Manager at point of booking for ticketed events, or the Senior Door Supervisor upon arrival if coming down for a drink.

Our security team have all completed accessibility training, however to help them out please ensure that where possible any medications are in their original packaging, any drinks are sealed, and all products are clearly labelled.

We do not have the facilities to store chilled medications. If you require storage for non-chilled medications or medical equipment, or a safe, private, quiet place to administer medications – please speak to the promotions manager or Senior Door Supervisor.

11.  Assistance Dogs

Guide & assistance dogs are welcome at the venue for daytime events and during normal day-time trading hours, we cannot unfortunately look after dogs during an evening event. Please inform of us in advance when you are booking an event.

12.  Strobe Lighting

Strobe lights are in operation in the main upstairs venue only; signs are located next to the entrances to the venue.
