The Old Red Bus Station presents FEMALE GAZE: A Multi Media Exhibition

In celebration of International Women's Day FEMALE GAZE at The Old Red Bus Station will feature a visual array brimming full of Leeds’ female talent showcasing work by in demand local artists, such as illustrator and Leeds Arts University alumni Bobbi Rae, indie brand owner and designer The Prawn Shop, and a collection of LAU’s latest creatives. In celebration of International Women’s Day, this exciting multi media group exhibition will explore the diverse experience of being a woman, and seeing the world through a female lens through illustration, photography, painting and more! Showcasing women in all forms, big bad and beautiful feast your eyes on on the FEMALE GAZE!

Vibrant colours and a joyfully honest perspective on the female form can be expected by illustrator and designer Bobbi Rae. Her work ‘promises to bring you vivid colour, vivacious ladies and a barrel of laughs’; her appearance in this exhibition is not to be missed. Bobbi Rae is known for playful illustration practice as well as her big and bold murals as part of creative duo Modes of Expression.

Local up and coming independent business The Prawn Shop explores the female form in illustrations and flamboyant merchandise. Soon to be graduating from Leeds Arts University, Georgia Hamilton of The Prawn Shop recently debuted her newest collection at her successful launch party, held at The Old Red Bus Station earlier this month.

This exhibition also hosts the work of many of LAU’s soon to be graduates, including printmaker and painter Ruby Shelton and local feminist activist artist Liv Talbot. Female Gaze will exhibit an array of ‘ones to watch’ coming into the creative industry, each giving their take on the female experience!

Join us on Thursday the 7th of March between 7pm - 11pm upstairs at The Old Red Bus Station. Our Happy Hour is between 5pm - 7pm at the bar so come early for a bev (and a bite if you're starvin')!
