Champion Up North are proud to present our brand new in-house gin for The Old Red Bus Station - Champion Up north - No. 104
Comprised of salted grapefruit, lime, orange & ginger and created by World Spirits award winning Yorkshire based distillery Taplin & Mageean.
Taplin & Mageean Spirit Company, like all great ideas, was formed over a gin and tonic. They are a local, Yorkshire based business who last year converted a 200 year old railway building in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales into a distillery. There, they have curated and perfected 4 deliciously balanced recipes which they've brought to the gin market; the signature edition, peach perfect, elderflower orchard and spiced orange.
Not only that, but they have recently won a Silver Award in the gin tasting category at the World Spirit Compeition 2019 in San Francisco.
Combining traditional distilling methods and modern engineering techniques, we are thrilled to announce that our partnership with them to create our brand new in-house gin; No. 104.
Fresh grapefruit, lime & orange were preserved in salt for 1 week prior to distillation, this salty and citrusy blend was then added to the still with ginger, juniper and chamomile. The resulting No. 104 spirit is a rich-textured, citrusy and smooth gin with a slight kick of heat.
