Sometimes, change can be a good thing. Even when it comes to the old tried and tested methods such as the Sunday roast. Imagine this, once upon a time people just used to eat potatoes and carrots all naked. We know right, how did they survive such boredom? That was until some crazy maverick came along and discovered the blissful joy of drenching steaming veg in the dark rich gooey goodness of gravy. Wait, there’s more. What about when we thought we’d got this whole Sunday savoury thing down and some culinary pioneer whipped up the first ever batch of crispy Yorkshire puds? The game was quite literally changed forever. “#YORKSHIRE”

Witch residency: 5 minutes with Lurka

Lurka emerged from the wake of Dubstep in the 2010s and has been steadily putting out impressive releases since. He has worked with esteemed Bristol imprints Timedance and Black Acre, as well as his own Fringe White label.

His sound is, like his contemporaries, a hard to pin down mix of Techno, Dubstep and everything in between. Ahead of his appearance at Witch, we sat down with Lurka to chat about his musical background, influences and what we can expect from him in the future.

On March 29th, our very own Cantina will be welcoming the world’s first ever vegan comedy club up north. That’s right, it’s not just the food we’re into – apparently, it’s the humour too.

Attention Volunteers - Feed the Streets Charity Cook-Up returns Tuesday April 3rd

Attention all volunteers! Cantina will be working with Simon on the Streets again for second Feed the Streets Charity Cook-Up event. Again, this will be an opportunity for volunteers to get involved in a project that aims to give back to the wider community of Leeds.

Good grub always tastes even better with great music. That’s just a fact of life. 

So, embracing this universal knowledge, one of our own Chefs and dedicated member of Leeds sound-system culture, Jim Two-Eyes, stirred up his own concept - DubaGrubDub.


Mixing up the innovative and soulful plant-based cooking of Cantina, with the uplifting Dub and Dancehall riddims of Two-Eyes Sound.

ORBS 2nd birthday presents Cantina Live: More Than Soul and Live in the Hive.

This year TORBS turns 2 years old! For our second birthday event we are happy to have More Than Soul and Live In The Hive curating the line up for our Cantina, bringing some of Leeds’ finest live acoustic acts to the homely setting of our vegan canteen. Relax, grab a beer and a vegan snack and enjoy the best acoustic artists in town!
