In Celebration: International Women's Day

In celebration of International Women’s Day, The Old Red Bus Station is presenting a collection of banging events to keep you in the party mood. Bring your pals and dance the night away, enjoy some artwork or learn some DJ skills!

Thursday 7th March - FEMALE GAZE // Exhibition

7pm - 11pm / FREE

We kick off our programme of events with an exhibition showcasing women in all forms; big, bad and beautiful. Head on down to The Old Red Bus Station to grab a drink and see some fabulous artworks by local female artists. FEMALE GAZE will exhibit works that explore the diverse experience of being a woman. Feast your eyes on the FEMALE GAZE!

Champion Up North presents at The Old Red Bus Station is bringing their next installation of events. This time around we're celebrating a selection of forward thinking, highly sought after DJs in one of our exciting events of the year. This night will give a taste of the finest female talent on the scene and is not to be missed. We're welcoming Discwoman's SHYBOI for the Leeds leg of her EU tour alongside Meine Nacht founder Breakwave with support from ORBS residents Concordia and Ally King. This event is in association with Smirnoff's 'Equalising Music' campaign. Launched in 2017, Equalising Music is a three-year global initiative to double female and female identifying headliners and help inspire the next generation of DJs. This year is focusing on The Equalising Music Pledge to tackle the gender disparity in the music industry. More information can be found at Smirnoff's website here.

The International Women’s Day celebrations at The Old Red Bus Station continue with an electrifying non-binary, women and genderqueer DJ panel and a DJ workshop. This free workshop will teach even beginners the DJ skills that they can put into practice right away. Our panel will discuss their unique experiences working in the electronic music industry as DJs which will give an exciting insight not to be missed!

Saturday 9th March - Knockers ★ SLUT DROP and Coppafeel! 

11pm - late / FREE / 18+

With DJ sets all night long, Popdiggy, CNTA (Slutdrop), GABRI (Skin), JAMEELA (Slut Drop/Skin), TACAT (Slut Drop) will have you dancing a grooving until the early hours. We are raising money for Coppafeel! Breast Cancer Awareness charity, donations can be made on the night. Have a look at the event for more info.
